Probelms with Huanyang Inverter VFD and Mk3 Board control
My dad has built a CNC machine with a Mk3 board, he has a Spindle which he has wired to an output board following the instructions on the blog images of wiring at this link: https://imgur.com/a/4qpkEuH
I have enable the 0-10v and control by terminals in the programs and setup the cnc as attached picture shows.
The M3 command does nothing and the controls dont work either, what are we doing wrong?
Re: Probelms with Huanyang Inverter VFD and Mk3 Board control
Execute a couple gcode lines and measure voltage coming out of Mk3 board
m3 S12000. Voltage should be about 5v do
Then.
M3 S24000 the voltage should be 10vdc

Ok, no voltage output at all with those commands, I got some better pictures of the wiring if that helps :)

Re: Probelms with Huanyang Inverter VFD and Mk3 Board control
Small Addendum, the output 1 puts out a max of 4.40V when at either 12000 or 24000, this is with a 12V power supply attached to the PlanetCNC Board

Next to the 0-10v output it has a Ground and 12v input this is most likely needed for the 0-10v to work, your wire being used is also incorrect you need Twisted Pair and Shielded is preferred you have to have the output from the Board working before you connect to the VFD Drive, you also need to remove the Reverse wiring as these Spindles are not to be used in Reverse
Re: Probelms with Huanyang Inverter VFD and Mk3 Board control
Thanks, I will look into that, but now I have another problem, I have removed all wiring from the VFD and reset it to factory, but the VFD will not run the spindle using the touchpads on the front anymore, any Ideas, It was for a minute or two set to max frequency of 1600Hz in the Settings for PlanetCNC, could this have affected the VFD?

You can't run the spindle with the Factory Reset Parameters you will damage the spindle, DO NOT RUN IT
What is your spindle spec's
Kw=
Amps=
Voltage=
Hz=

A few years ago I also owned a Huanyang inverter (both the 1.5KW and the 2.2KW one). It's not hard to set it up...just read the manual (also found online). If it can be useful at the time I participated in a discussion on an Italian forum on this topic.
everything is in Italian but with the Google translator there shouldn't be any problems.

Thank you. It is working again
