Hurco VMX42SR B axis calibration alignment
Hi,
I have a Hurco 5 axis (VMX42SR) where B axis is the spindle head that rotates, and C axis is the table that rotates
I have a problem where the B axis gets 'knocked out' of position from machining, this problem gradually worse as time goes on. After calibrating the axis', the head will end up at B0.000, and by swinging an indicator in the spindle against the table, I can see how 'out of square' to the B axis is.
I'm getting frustrated by calling Hurco to come in and align this every time, it seems to be an endless issue and I'm looking how I can do this myself, is there a place in the controller I can adjust the home encoder position?
It seems it could easily be resolved with software.
Winmax Mill Version: V09.01.53
Motion System: UltiMotion (ZMP, MEI MPI VERSION: 03.04.16.B1.01)
Thanks

Hi,
go to service menu. Password is a zip code of Hurco Indianapolis (you can find it on your machine).
Go to CNC Config Parameters, B axis. There is a parameter Calibrating Home Position which is a distance between zero position and marker on Renishaw encoder. After adjust, re-calibrate machine and check again.
Check zero position of B axis by measuring parallelism between spindle line and Z axis (in X direction) using test bar in the spindle, not to table.

Hi Faja, thanks for your information
I checked the service menu, and there is no CNC Config Parameters menu item. Is this menu item disabled? Would you know a different location I might find this?
Re: Hurco VMX42SR B axis calibration alignment
I has to be there in 100%. Go to Integrator Support Services (use password) and then CNC Config should be under F1 softkey, then B axis.

I found it, thanks! This is very helpful thank you

Hi,
I have the same machine here. But i have a problem with programs running on machine. WinMax is starting, but during program start it is crashed.
Can you tell me, which version of WinMax do you have, and which PEAK board version you have?
If possible, please send me BIOS settings over email. It is [email protected].
