Need help selecting material
Hi! I'm a student that needs help with a project. I need help with selecting a material for this piece. I'm using the metric system.

This is a table on mini milling lathe. In the task it was only written that material is cast iron so I'm free to choose any that would suit this piece. I've selected EN-GJS-400-15 ductile cast iron tho I'm no expert and I'm open to suggestions perhaps anyone can recommend another material. I need to select workpiece for it. I have an option to cast something like this but since I only need to make 10 pieces I think it would be cheaper to buy from standart cast iron sheets... I don't really understand how I'm supposed to select and buy it. I found something like this:
https://www.steelexpress.co.uk/cast-...N-GJS-400.html
It says it comes in round shapes 25mm diameter to 450mm diameter. Is it even possible to make that plate from round piece. Perhaps someone can help me with finding a sheet? I need arround 224x120x26...
Argh... I'm really clueless at therse things...
Re: Need help selecting material
Cast iron also comes in flat plates. A quick call or email to the vendor would be helpful to get you pointed in the right direction.

I'll need to talk with my teacher if it's not too much metal wasted if I take this one (also the dimension L is either 200 mm or 300 mm there, I need about 224 for mine). If it fails I guess I'll have to email one of the suppliers as you suggested.
I'm always open If anyone has any other suggestions
