Hitachi Seiki VM40J "System Error"

hello all, in our shop we have a late 90's model Hitachi Seiki VM40J 3 axis mill with a Seicos J controller. For starters, the only way this machine will run at all is if I put a portable heater in the electrical cabinet to warm everything up. This is odd as it is currently around 70 degrees in the shop. Also, once you do get the machine to run, it very often will quit working entirely and the screen will display ***SYSTEM ERROR.*** The only way to get the machine to run again is by shutting down the main power and restarting it back up. Any insight into what to check, or if anyone knows who i can contact for tech support since Hitachi is no longer a company would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
