Problem with Face Operation in Conversational
I'm a newbie with a 770M. As pictured I'm setting up a facing op where the origin of the material is on the back, left most corner, Z is the top surface. However the gcode generated has the tool moving to X 13.2875, Y -0.7750 (line 41 of the code) before making the first pass in the wrong direction as shown in the conversation screen. Is my setup wrong?
Is there a way to post gcode in a better way than as a txt file?
Re: Problem with Face Operation in Conversational
The first move just goes to a start position off the part. Notice that Z=0.6 above your stock. If you look slightly further down the Gcode you see:
(Pass 1)
F 4.0 (Z Feed, inches/minute)
G1 Z -0.3985
F 12.0 (Feed, inches/minute)
G1 X -0.0375 Y -0.7750
where the tool actually begins to cut at 0.3985 below the top of your stock. BTW, are you certain that a 0.4 inch DoC is appropriate?

Thanks for the reply!
I see what your saying but it's not what I see going on with the mill. I try to get some video of the actual path. I'm machining some shorts of TREX, a composite plastic wood decking - something that is less likely to cause damage during a crash.
Re: Problem with Face Operation in Conversational
Did you try using spiral instead of rectangular. This has always started in top left corner for me. This will climb mill all around the part and reduce any burring to a minimum.
Isn't Trex a little gummy to mill, I never tried milling it but have cut on saws.
