finding center of a hole
Hi,
I have an edge finder with a conical end, which I guess may be used for finding the center of a hole.
In the Mach 3 offsets window, there is an area for using an edge finder to set the offsets.
I have played around with this and haven't got it to work just right.
I would like to be able to use this to find the exact center of a hole and then set this as X0, Y0.
Could someone please give me a step by step on how to do this.
Thanks.

It's much easier to find the center of a hole using a dial test indicator.
A spring action contact point easily adjusts to any angle. A needle on the graduated dial indicates how far the contact point moves.
Mount the indicator in the spindle, locate the contact point against the hole wall, and position the X&Y axes until the needle shows no movement (while rotating the spindle by hand).
You are now perfectly centered in the bore.
