Servo problem after battery change
Hello,
I really hope that you can help me.
We are using CNC Brother TC-31A, after the "Low battery" icon appeared, we have replaced the batteries with new ones, but then a new error appeared:
5066. 17 **M SERVO (BATT DROP)
Below I've written all info found in operation manual on the 5066 error message
Error message: M SERVO (***)
Stop level 5: The servo system stops
Reset level 3: Turn OFF the power. (An alarm cannot be reset otherwise)
Cause: A servo error has occurred for the M axis. The cause differs depending on (***). Refer to the servo error list.
SERVO ERROR MESSAGE
Display: BATT DROP
Cause: Battery voltage drop
Solution: Replace alkaline battery for absolute encoder backup
Already tried multiple times to turn off the CNC, put the old batteries back, but nothing helps.
Have no idea how to fix that, it seems like no information is available via internet, that is why I think your experience could be appreciated very highly.
Thank you in advance,
Artur

Re: Servo problem after battery change
I've got a reply to the question elsewhere, decided to post it here also, just in case anyone else is searching for the solution.
Good afternoon Mr. Andrejev
I guess the voltage of the backup batteries was cut for longer than 20-30 minutes.
In this case the machine 'forgot' the magazine position and you need to set it again.
Attachment 236518
- After clearing the start point data, move the magazine position nr.1 to the tool change area and clear the start point once again.
- Finally disable the ATC maintenance mode (I/O), (1), (Enter), (page up) set 0 for (ATC maintenance mode) and power the machine off and on again.
- If everything went well you can start to work with the machine as usual.

Re: Servo problem after battery change
Hi, i had the same battery issue on a TC32A this morning.
I changed batteries and i followed the steps to recover the alarm and it worked.
Unfortunately now i have the tool position shifted by 3 or 4 degrees for every position.
I didn't try to do a tool change because i'm afraid that the arm wil collide...
How can i solve this?
Thank you if you can help me

You must change the Battery with the power on, its always best to home the machine (any machine) and then change the Battery you will have to check with the manufacture to see how to correct the out of position, they will have a recovery procedure
