Fanuc 0i-MA 4th axis Install - Daewoo Doosan 3016d

Hi, I have purchased a used rotary table and would like to install it on this mill. I am having a hard time getting anyone to come out and do it. Would like to set it up as much as possible to learn how it's done anyway.

Does anyone have a procedure for setting one up? I would love to document this and leave it up for people to look through.

What I have done so far:

Purchased Rotary Table with fanuc motor and compatible servo drive (emailed Fanuc)

Made sure the machine had the 4th axis options. Fanuc was actually really helpful.

Do you have ladder written for the 4th axis?
Search your ladder for G130.3
Not super familiar with that specific control.

Yes, when I searched for it I found a bunch of 4th axis logic. home, jog, interlocks ...

I do not see a photo of the motor tag..
Not the encoder tag.
You need to make sure the new motor and drive combination will match parameter sets. If the MTB pre set the parameters it would most likely be some combination of what THEY would add on. Likely not what you had bought, but maybe.

I called Fanuc and got the recommended combo then purchased the drive. The 4th came off the same machine but an 08 model vs 2003.
I forgot about the motor info. The tag also fell off... 4th axis motor: A06B-0223-B000

Check parameter 2020.
See if 273 is in it for the 4th axis.

Ok, I set parameter 9943.3 to 1 and restarted the machine. The A axis is now present and shows Motor ID 61.

Should't the motor ID be set to 233?

I just found: Alpha Series AC Servo Motor Parameter Manual, GFZ-65150E/03

What is parameter 9943? I have never used this.
Could be because it is an MA control, I may not be able to help much more without the parameter cross references from MA to MC or MD. Do you have any MA manuals?
Anyways, from what I can tell that motor you have, the motor ID should be 273 for HRV2 or 173 for HRV1 control. The middle number is the specification ID.
I do not see any motors with an ID of 61.
The motor you have is an alpha i series, aiF4/4000.

Yes after you set 8130 to 4. I would set the motor ID and hook the amp and motor up. Normally I would do an auto set of the parameters, Then tune from there..But you may mess other axis up if you do not do it exactly right. So if I were you in your situation. Go through the 1800 and 2000 parameters. Look at the end of the parameter manual for the basic motor settings. See what alarms come up and work through them. Then when you can effectively move the axis with no alarms, you will need to set the gear ratios and other positioning parameters, to move to an accurate position. This is assuming the ladder works out.
It's a good thing those amps don't have FSSB comm to set up. That's more of a pain in the A$$.

Ah, also see if there is a clamp on that rotary table. You will need to supply a valve for unclamp, before you try to move the axis or you will be chasing your tail after movement/excess detect alarms. Good luck.

Yes it has one! I will see if I can put a relay and valve in.

I also have an Oi-MD milling machine that is in need of a 4th axis extension, can you help me set the parameters for connecting the 4th axis? The ladder also has options for the 4th axis written. Are you connected successfully? You have experienced please help me.
