Looking for 24x48 cnc options

Hi there, I'm new around here. I have a small wood shop doing mostly custom cabinets. I do lots of other random stuff though, mixed media also. I'm looking for about a 24x48" router. That is a good size because I can mill probably 90-95% of my cabinet sides at that size.

So far I'm either looking in the wrong place or that is an odd size...

I've operated a big bussellato router as well as weeke, but I don't need anything on that scale and have never pieced all the components together to get running. I'm not looking to have to buy a bunch of separate components, programs, controllers etc etc. I need a turn key product. or to find a dealer/manufacturer that has all necessary components to get cutting minus the PC.

I work daily in autocad and will create flat patterns with that. I really liked the price of the zenbot machine. They offer the size I need and the price was great.... are there better or other options?

I'd love to get cracking for $3,500USD or less...

To be honest, your budget is too low for a decent quality ready to run machine in that size.
Anything in that size and price range, will be a low quality light hobby grade machine.
Zenbot's are made mostly of plastic.
You might be able to find a chinese import, which are usually mechanically much better, but often have subpar electronics.

A Camaster Stinger is a good machine, but starts at more than double your budget.

The only way you're going to get a machine like you need close to your budget is to buy the basics and build it yourself. There are options as far as a already build machine and then a electronics kit. That will eliminate a lot of the guess work and DIY hassles. Take a look at the Fineline Saturn series 2x4. If you get a 4 stepper nema 23 electronics kit from them or some place like CNCRouterParts, and build a base yourself, you will be close to your budget (not including driver software, electronics enclosure and a spindle/router and computer). I'm not associated with either company, but I bought a saturn machine and it's very heavy duty and I'm pleased with it. Quite capable of production work depending on your spindle choice. Anything close as far as a machine used for any production work that's turnkey will likely cost at least double or more than the budget you mentioned. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. Im not opposed to chinese products. I have some grizzly tools and I like them. As far as a kit is concerned. Im fine with assembly, I just dont want to be mired up in finding correct parts and electonics to get it going. The statement about sourcing a nema box, spindle, and electronics is discouraging. Im trying to minimize my learning curves. I understand that costs more

My homebuilt router has travel-lengths of approx. 24x39" but it should be no problem to extend the long axis to 48".
I have recently digitalized all my plans and drawings, feel free to have a look if you like.
Building a cnc by yourself is quite an effort no doubt but it will save some money and will give you a great deal of experience.

I spent $3.400 on my machine including control, motors, spindle, THK linear rails, ball-screw etc. but I have machined all the parts myself.
Additionally I spent around $800 on measuring tools, that's propably not completely necessery but I thought it was better to spent the money back then and align everything perfectly than having trouble later.
You might be saving a couple hundred dollars since you are located in the U.S. and won't have to buy as much overseas as I did and therefore save shipping costs and taxes

These guys in Chicago have many different Chinese machines in stock. I purchased a 24x36 for about $3000 last summer. I have been more than pleased with this machine.

There are not many options in the dimension you seek, however, it had been a footprint I also admired... so I built my own machine a long time ago. If you are looking for adventure and want to build your own high quality machine that will outperform the majority of all the Extrusion based, MDF and Plastic machines, I just uploaded the majority of the old drawings and plans for my machine in the CNCzone's downloads section under "plans" called "Data-Cut CNC Router Plans".
