Swapping Work Offsets On One Job
Anybody do something like setup two parts in two vices on the mill and zero G54 to one and G55 to the other? Any issues with this with PathPilot. I can't imagine there should be, but...
I have done it many times under Mach 3 on my KMB1 with no issues over the years. Often I swap work offsets back and forth multiple times to save on tool changes. Just the first time I've done it under PathPilot. I guess I'll find out. I just laid out a job that way for the 1100.

No issues at all.
I use G54, G55, G56 etc. for multiple part setups with Pathpilot..
I've even used the G52 "Shift" gimmick for a special job that required a lot of small parts profiled out of a flat sheet.

if it's programmed right then pathpilot will use the offsets that it's provided with

Yep, so far looks good. Only issue is I forgot to set a style and tool for one operation in CAM. It wanted to drill the next set of holes with a tap. LOL. Fortunately I was standing there.

I'll have to look up that G52 "Shift" gimmick. Don't recall having used G52. I use G53 all the time for "safe" moves and tool changes.
~~~~ Ah, I have used it a long time ago. I do that automatically using the nesting capability in my CAM program instead now.
