z axis resolver
My z axis resolver went out this afternoon, luckly I had a old motor with a good resolver the change only took a few mins and I know how to set it up so thats not the problem,
is there a setting I need to change for the tool changer? as you know when you replace a resolver you will have to turn the resolver to get it close to the indication marks. when you do a CS it will be close but off a few thousanths from were it was before the bad resolver. I assume this will effect the tool change height ?
where do I fix that? I know once before I had to go in and do something like that( tool change height got messed up) but it was 2 years ago and my memory is bad.

Since this is a DC servo motor, rotate the resolver until the tool in the spindle is at the same height as the tool in the tool changer. That is your new cold start position.
You can not replace the Encoder in an AC motor and the cold start procedure for the AC is to adjust the zero offset in the survey.

whats the code to use to bring the tool changer to the spindle?

on the Fadal control it is "TC,1" and MANUAL button to return it. The ATC will move to the spindle, the drawbar will fire and the head will rise 4.000" and all motion will stop in that position. Pressing manual will reverse the process.
