This helped me to over come noise issues with my VFD.
My shop radio would freakout when the VFD was started.
I started with 3/8" wide braided shield.

My shop radio would freakout when the VFD was started.
I started with 3/8" wide braided shield.
The braid expands to 3/4" ID.
This expansion causes loss of about half of the lenght.
A 1 foot long piece is about 6" long at 3/4" ID.
I rolled the end over to aid in installation.
Slide the braid over the wire.
Cover with heat shrink or plastic braid.
Ground only the end closest to the VFD or contoller. Bada boom bada bing, you got shielded cable or wires.
Now shop radio works fine.
