need help... manual+ 4110 / Siemens 611 drive error troubleshooting

On our Gildemeister NEF320 Lathe we are getting a X axis error: " SW-IPO 1001 Chanal 1 Contour error monitoring of X axis activated"
We do not know how to log-in to the back end of the controller (or Siemens drives) to look at the motor performance or details of the error. So - I'm not even sure if or how to determine if it is a motor, drive, or encoder error/issue.

I assume the error message means that there is a discrepancy between the encoder measured position and the controller's commanded pos. but as a bare minimum starting point- it would be awesome to figure out the out-of-tolerance range required to generate the error.

Would be awesome if we had somehow just changed a Gcode setting that was messing up some sort of Modal contour function??

Any help would be appreciated.
