New to Laser

Hello, I am looking to purchase my first laser machine. I would like to be able to etch wood such as cutting boards and baseball bats and the color coated tumblers. I currently have an embroidery business and looking to expand. My daughter is an engineering major at Ga Tech and has finally after 2 years talked me into purchasing a laser machine. There is so much info out there and I don't even know where to begin. Can you please give me the pros and cons of you machines? I've looked at Boss, Epilog, Full Spectrum...

What's the support like?
Software needed?
Easy to use?

Anything else I need to know that's helpful.
