Tormach 1100 Random Z issue
Hello, I have had a parallel toolpath on the mill for about 14 hours, I've come to check on it and seen this low spot, and basically want to know what the most likely cause of this is. Gib perhaps?
its the only one on the whole part, and it stops as the path sinks into the cavity.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Tormach 1100 Random Z issue
Usually if there is an anomally and it corrects itself it is not due to a machine problem, usually when that happens its software related.
Just a guess.................
I used to run into problems like this with Mach 3 but usually that didnt correct itself. Pathpilot has never had a miscue here.

Do you have an automatic oiler? It could be the hydraulic force of the oiler pushing the saddle and table up during oiling, thus the cutter cutting deeper on one or two passes only.

Yes we do have an auto oilier on it. Looks like the pressure of the auto oilier lifts the table by over 0.001" on the dial indicator.
Problem solved. Thanks for the help.
