Techno CNC Lathe ignores X offset
I just brought home a 20 y.o. Techno CNC Servo Lathe, my first lathe after many different routers. It's an educational machine so the control is very simple, MFR claims it is Fanuc compatible, machine is no longer supported.
I've chucked my 1.527" stock and set the 0,0 to the front outside corner of the stock. The setup in the control has an offset for X & Y, and the X offset is set to -0.7635" which should indicate Z axis center. Tool offset is at 0,0 (which it seems to ignore anyway).
I have run the program several times with different offsets for X and T1 and the tool always starts at 1.433" (first pass depth) from the outside of the stock. Z starts in the correct position.
CAM is Fusion 360 with a generic Fanuc post processor (the only post I can find). The program is using G54. G code is attached.
I'm sure the answer is simple, thanks for any help.
Re: Techno CNC Lathe ignores X offset
The answer is actually very complex for endless reasons.
There are 16 million different combinations of offsets for std gcodes, if they are all implemented and work correctly, which they won´t-
and the correct working is actually not quite clear.
And more/less all controllers do not work correctly with *some* combinations of gcode, perfectly good gcode.
Endless technical reasons for it, mostly meaning they did not code properly, then, or even now.
