I had the same question few weeks ago and this that video helped me to understand how it works and actually I´m already tried it in one SW with Siemens 840d SL and works perfectly, in my case I just select G19 to make a hole and tap in X axis and when I loaded the tool I selected the type of tool like an angle head.
