victor V26 part catcher problem

Hi all ,

i am running into some problems with my Victor V26 II with fanuc 18T controls .

i bought this machine recently and never used a lathe that has a part catcher installed before .

now i have a part that i need to produce where i could use the part catcher .

i want to catch the part when i cut it off the stock material so when the spindle is still turning .

however when i command the part catcher to come out the spindle stops and refuses to start until i move my part catcher back in .

is there any way i can make my spindle and my part catcher work at the same time ?
