new to me pcnc1100
Finally talked my employer in to selling me (for a VERY good price) their Tormach.
It's a series 2 1100, with stand, two tool arms, TTS setup, vise, sprutcam, PC etc.
For some reason they want to keep the duality lathe which is fine by me as it seems very low quality. Unfortunately a previous employee walked away with the 4th axis rotary and a few of the setup tools - height gauge ( I have a nice height gauge and surface plate anyway so no bigee) and touch tool. The tailstock and 4 jaw were left behind so I do have those and strangely enough the interface kit for the 4th axis. Not sure why he would "acquire" the rotary and not the interface kit. Probably couldn't find it.
I have a Sharp HMV manual lathe and a 1958 Sheldon VS lathe and have been a hobbyist for about 15 years. I know little about CNC machining though, so am looking forward to an education on this forum.
Thanks in advance - must say I'm pretty excited about it!

welcome to the family...
possibly a slightly dysfunctional family at times, but we are a mostly happy family...

Welcome to the group.
I have a Series II 1100 that will be 3 years old in July, and I love it.

Thank you both!
The machine is sitting in a box van with liftgate at my company. Going to pick it up in an hour or so, a work colleague is helping me to unload it.
Must say I didn't get much sleep last night thinking about how many ways I could drop this machine.
It is on it's stand, and obviously top heavy. I removed the Z stepper to clear the van, and removed the drip pan sheet metal to make it easier to move. Also tool arms, PC etc removed.
I have two J bars and a pallet jack in the van.
Fingers crossed!

Dont forget a piece of pipe or 2. Amazing what you can do with pipe for rollers. Pics!

The machine was loaded in the truck by forklift. When we got to my place, a quick measure of the base showed that it was too big for the liftgate!
We had to disassemble the top from the stand using my engine hoist inside the truck. Lots of J bar work and afterwards pallet jack work and the machine is
sitting in my garage. I am going to have to move some of my metalworking tools to my woodshop as the Tormach takes up a lot of room.
Tomorrow I will remount all the bits and pieces and hopefully be done.
The Tormach lifting kit is very handy!

Ditto,
Looks like a great addition to your shop.
Look forward to seeing some stuff you work on!
