Aluminum Boat CNC Cost?

I am looking at building an aluminum boat myself.

Havent put the CAD together for it will cost $$$$ due to wanting to 3D scan a hull.

********Please work with me.........if you put $20-$40k thats completely understandable.

Cost should include aluminum and CNC cuts



----36x11 are the hull dimensions------

----The bottom "V" and transom will be 5086 .250 inch aluminum.

----- The sides and tunnel will be single sheet 5052 .187 inch (picture shows a two sheets to create a chine or step but will be removing reduce cost and welding)

------The gunnels and floor Topside will be 5052 .187 inch

------7 baffles 5052 .187

------20 stringers 5052 .187

-------Twin keels will be 5086 .250

This might not be the best forum to provide an answer;have you tried Boat Design Net - the Boat Design and Boat Building Site ? There are sections for both design and metal boat construction.You may not like the answers to your question though.

On the other hand you may have enough boat experience to calculate downflooding angle and angle of vanishing stability,Work out power and propulsion details and have the data to hand for weight distribution,anode location and a lot more beside that would help to persuade an insurance company to give you cover.Without that cover finding a marina willing to accept you might be challenging.

Hi JW - find a similar commercial boat and that's your ball park answer. You maybe able to do it cheaper if you have zero dollar labour but the rest costs more for you then a commercial builder. People who do this sort of thing rarely say how much is it going to cost. They like making things so they just start and figure it out as they go...Peter
