Xcarve 1000mm x 1000mm cnc vs WorkBee 1500mm x 1500mm cnc ?

hi im looking for some neutral input on these 2 machines only based on stock machine only and facts.

which machine is better design and better value based on machine only

i have made some compasrisons and please would like feedback.

The Workbee only has an 8mm diameter leadscrew. Kinda tiny. So they have some sort of tensioning mechanism on the leadscrew to prevent whip. Yeah, I have no idea what this is or how it's built. Makes it impossible to do a comparison.

The larger extrusions and double the amount of wheels make the workbee more rigid....

It looks like the "workbee" is made by a number of different places. The original ooznest workbee comes with a Duet 2 board, 32 bit, which isn't cheap, and is a nice board. The 2A limitation means that this board was meant primarily for Nema 17s, but you can get an expansion board to add higher current external drivers. None of this is relevant to you per se, as the link you've attached from EBay is a knock off that doesn't have this board.

Yes workbee is much larger and has 4-8x more rigid rails those are fscts

Yes 8mm screw drive..but screw drive is superior overall compared to rubber belts...thats a fact

Do you see any advsntsges the xcarve has over the workbee ?

Mechanically? ...do you disagree with any of my comparison list?

The workbee is more than 2x the machining area compsred to the smaller xcarve



There are thousamds of diy kits avsilable today..dime a dozen.

But for this thread its xcarve vs workbee knockoff.

You're the one saying it's a fact. Not me.

8mm diameter lead screw with a janky who knows what kind of tensioning system may or may not be better than a small rubber belt, I have no way of knowing. That's what I'm saying.

This is like asking what's better, a car with a blown engine, or a car with no engine.

All of these low cost machines have serious rigidity issues, and they are all comparable. And advantage one would have would be minimal, and probably negated by some other issue.
