Ideas on Project

I was wondering i have alot of plc parts and fanuc amplifiers laying around. Beta series i havent checked but i am sure i can get a matching pair. My question is as follows might be simple but im wondering if its possible. Im not electrical genius so please be kind. I want to build a simple AC servo control.

Basically i want to control RPMs on a spindle nothing fancy with a display of speed. (the speed display needs to be programmed since there is a ZF gmb transmission i-10)

Is there a way to control a servo amplifier without a control with commands from a plc and interface card.

Something cheap i can find on ebay or build. Used would be great.
