Hello All,
I need some help/suggestions on pricing. I've attached a DXF of what the customer wants cut out of .063 aluminum. I need to save all the letter holes to be installed on a background later.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Using a CNCRouterParts Pro 4896 with a 2.2kw spindle.
Get a water jet cutting quote and add commission. Not really a job for a router imo
I agree, but circumstances dictate that I keep this job in house.
Anybody have any guidelines/industry standards they can suggest??

But i simply Calculate machining time x (hourly rate + hourly overheads) + tooling + material + shipping + vat if registered.

This can be done on a router with an 1/8" Three Flute Carbide endmill. Take it into CAM and get estimated run time to cut the job and use the calculator that Jon provided. If I understood you want to save the letters you cut out and put on a different background. This would mean you have to cut them with compensation on the outside for those letters, and inside to leave the holes. Not exactly sure if you are going to install all the parts cutout on another background it was unclear.

If you've never cut anything like that before, in that material, be prepared to do it multiple times to get it right.
If I was experienced in cutting that material on my machine, then somewhere between $100-$200.
If I'd never cut that material before, I wouldn't do the job.
I agree with Ger was thinking £90+ material which puts it around the upper end of Ger's estimate.
The problem with routing thin sheet is one finding a suitable grade of aluminium, if it is 1050 then walk away. But the biggest issue is workholding, with that part there is no holes that can be used initially for fixing down unless you maybe cut one letter and then fix through the letter. Otherwise you need a vacuum bed or that sheets going to vibrate like crazy and lift. It is doable but it could easily become a complete pig of a job.
In an ideal world I'd factor in the price of two specialist aluminium cutting 2flute spirals, endmills gum up easier. But your going to want to price for at least one.
cuts great with single flute endmill 1/8 at 1200 mm / s feed rate spindle rpm should be around 18000. For lubricant, I use Canola oil. Corn oil or vegetable oil sticks. $1.00 Carbide 1/8 bits from Ebay are adequate.... I use a vacuum table. Use bridges if you have no vacuum table and lower feed rate. finish is great with no or very little burr.
With cut feed rate tool and lubricant, you should be able figure out your price.
Hi Alevitt - I suggest you do it as an engraving. A material supplier can provide anodised aluminium and then you just engrave the figures vs cutting them. You are going to have a major problem catching the little island parts undamaged unless you double sided tape the entire back surface. Peter
