Stepper Motors
I have a Xylotex 3 axis board with 4 wire steppers (Nema23), Mach3, XP Desktop, HP 20.7" flat monitor. When I jog my motors 4 inches, the Mach3 DRO shows 4 inches but actual travel of my mill table is only about 3/8 of an inch. Motor tuning is:
Steps Per - 2000, Velocity 175, Acceleration 25 and the Pulse - 1 and 1.ted. Thank you,
Suggestions appreciated. Thank you,
Ray

Re: Stepper Motors
What happens when you up the "steps per" by a factor of 10?

Re: Stepper Motors
Is it lead screw, belt drive, rack and pinion?
What's the gear ratio of the system.
The default Xylotex setting is 1/8 microsteps, or 1600 steps per stepper revolution. So I doubt 2000 steps/inch is the right number.
Also, set the pulse widths to at least 2 or 3, instead of 1.
And make sure the Mach3 default native units are the same units you are using.
