Re: Surface Plates Granite
Hi,
It looks like you don't have private messages turned on.
I'm very interested, but the issue is that I'm away for a full year. If someone wanted to store a plate for me, I would be in!
Also interested in a straightedge and cylindrical square.
Re: Surface Plates Granite
G'day,
just wondering what the rough cost a plate landed in SEQ is? Size? Thanks
Re: Surface Plates Granite
Hi everyone.
Just an update on how this went. We purchased a total of 14 plates and some smaller sudry items like squares and parralells.
Results were fantastic.
Everything is accurate to within microns, the rulers where so flat we couldn't measure any deviation with a half micron indicator.
We may do another order later in the year so let me know if anyone is interested.
Thanks dan
Re: Surface Plates Granite
Hi dan - Where did you get the indicator for checking the plates and did you get a repeat o meter? If so where in Oz? I want to make some plates. Peter
Re: Surface Plates Granite
Hi,
yes I would be interested in a good granite plate. My current mill project has 700mm beds so I would be looking for 800-900mm length.......is that
doable?

Re: Surface Plates Granite
hi peteeng.
We made one similar to the one rob renzetti made on his youtube channel.
We have on interferometer but it's not working at the moment

Re: Surface Plates Granite
hi Craig.
That size is vary easy. What width are you considering.
We are doing another order this week so let me know
Thanks dan
Re: Surface Plates Granite
Hi,
it seems most granite plates are around 4:3 or there about. If I could get a plate 800x500 to around 900x600 I'd be good.
Getting it to New Zealand could be an expensive exercise though.
Craig
Re: Surface Plates Granite
Awesome timing...
I'll jump on this as well.
