Cutter Comp?

Can cutter comp on the CNC88 be turned on with a G2/G3 as opposed to a G1?

i don't see why not. so long as you have a "fake move" first before you hit material. usually i use a g1 as my "fake move" then a g2/g3.

I doubt it...... check your manual. From what I remembered machine only turn on cutter comp with G00 or G01 anything else will be alarm.

I stopped doing this because of program compatibility issues with out other machines, that will not allow this.

+2, you can use G2/G3 for CRC. on the HS88

Although the control will accept the G41/G42 code on a G2/G3 move, this is considered a VERY poor programming practice. CRC tells the control to place the tool tangent to the next entity. It can be very difficult sometimes to predict where that tangency point will be and therefore can subject the part to unwanted gouges.
