Clamping kit for 6040 CNC
I want to buy a clamping kit for my 6040 Chinese CNC, but I am totally confused with which size to buy.
The T slot has following dimensions:
<work surface>
-------- ---------
| X |
-------- ---------
| Y |
----------------------
I hope above looks like a T-slot.
The stud should go through X and the T nut head should fit Y.
In my case X is 8.3mm, y is 13.6mm.
Which kit should I buy?
Re: Clamping kit for 6040 CNC
What comes with them is just bolts and straps ... eBay sells more if that's what you want ... there is also a small 6 mm metric clamp kit that might work .... standard American bolt size would be 5/16 and regular clamp kit is 3/8 so unless you just want the step blocks and replace the hardware that will not fit ... the real question is what and how do you want to clamp ... I would think most of the time you would want low profile since z movement is limited ... it always sucks to run into a clamp ... I have used all sorts of stuff to fixture and clamp ..even bolts and fender washers ... sometimes a fixture is the hard part on cnc
