Hello who can tell me something about the Siemens 810D powerline (in DMU 50 ecoline)?
Is the control system up to date or rather outdated?
I don’t need a high end mega control system but one that is suitable for training and simple single parts.
Does it differ from the current Siemens control system regarding the user surface or is a switch from the old one to the current one easily possible?
Can you think of any disadvantages?

Don’t worry, the machine is still up to date.
The 810D powerline is still being built but as a phased-out model not actively developed any further.
For cheaper machine it is still a good choice. What the mechanics can’t do, the control system doesn’t need to carry along.
In Shopmill it looks like a 810D/840D SolutionLine.
Visible differences only exist in the control box. Visually 810D/840D and 828D only differ in the ‘operate’ surface.
With the Sinumerik, the numbers indicate the capability.
It only gets more modern with higher software versions.
The Ecoline is ‘slimmed’.
The cost to switch to a higher control system model is probably higher than the value of the machine itself- plus it doesn’t make anything better.
For the training and single part production, you should insist on Shopmill.
