Mazak 300S Lathe running 640T, it does not add a pcs on the tool counter?
So, we after a bit can only guess hpw many parts on on the tooling. Do you guys have any suggestions on anything simple?
The Enga-neer did program in G-code, so I would imagine Mazatrol would be better, but we don't spend that kind of money I guess. Any help would be great.
Never try but tool count can be done wth Mazatrol or G-code. Check your manual, with mazatrol i think machine paremeter 13 bit 3 should 1 for it to work, and G-code is G10(tool manegement) will do that.

M198/199 are intended to provide the excellent end unit choices in mazatrol in EIA programs.
Mazatrol end units can be set up with/without parts counter, branch to another program yes/no, and continuous running (bar loop), or stop at end of each cycle.
Also, on the Position page, the arrow keys can navigate to the counter and reset the actual count and target count.

Additionally, if using Mazatrol End Unit or EIA end unit process with M198/199, the beauty of branching with the mazatrol end unit is that it does not act like a EIA sub program with respect to reset. If the Mazatrol End Unit puts you in another program and you hit reset, the machine stays in that program.
it could be said that the Mazatrol End unit is "smarter" than the EIA sub program call, which reverts back to the main program at reset.
