Servo suggestions
Hi all, in process of revamping esab table
I was hoping to use the existing motor and gearboxes,
I have now found out what the motor's are,
They are the exact same as the
M642TE brushed servo motor DC with built in tachometer,
I am not to up to date with servo
As I always worked with only steppers before
Would anyone know what all would be needed to run these from mach3 or some other modern controller
As in motion controllers and drivers

Re: Servo suggestions
I did an old Gas tracer table converted to CNC, but used BLDC servo's and 10:1 gearboxes, and Galil Motion controller in a PC.
Current controllers no longer use a tach, as long as they have an encoder on the motor, then you should be able to use a suitable controller, step/dir etc.
