I recently read an article describing a new formula for calculating bending force. Amada's formula has some limitations. I wonder if the new method pointed out in the article is correct? Hope you guys can guide me.

Hi MM - These days if you want to know the forces and various things going on in a press operation you simulate it using FEA. This will correctly predict the force, the deflection and the springback. Not sure why you would use an approximation theory these days. Plus you do a bend and measure the force via the machine no need to estimate it. Operators know what will bend and what won't and the machine has operational guidelines...Regards Peter
