Been using the software on the new Slant Pro since Saturday. The lathe is quieter and the tool path is much smoother. Will be switching over the mill once PeteCNC gets the 2.0 patch done on the pendant and Ninja knobs. Love the fact that things are more touch screen friendly (like the sliders).
Looks like the page changed to coming soon.
Hey Guys;
Do you know if one purchases pathpilot for a non-Tormach machine, will updates be made available for them? I've been attempting to install PP on my Novakon for weeks now and am having the problems with the usb interface that has been mentioned in other threads! From what I've read, the latest version addresses USB issues.
Thanks ion Advance.
Bill
all updates are available to download here

Not sure how v2.0 will work, if they want a machine number to download it or not. Hopefully there is an updated version and a fresh install version.
I hope that that doesn't mean the usual ~us$40 shipping charge for any Canadian orders. It would be great if someone could upload to Dropbox or other accessible location.
I suspect that a Dropbox download is equally fast there!
Thanks but one *NEVER* want to have anything small shipped to Canada via UPS. Regardless of the value of the merchandise their handling charges are $50 or so (in addition to any applicable shipping charges, duty and taxes). USPS is a far better choice for anything under 10 pounds or so. Little Machine Shop (https://littlemachineshop.com/) also carries many Tormach items and understands how to get the best deal on shipping to Canada.
I am not messing with success. I think my Slant Pro is still at 1.7 something. ;)
It is very happy right there too.
That said, I don't ever put new files on the machine. Just using stock files for the most part. For special ops, I just use the Conversational, so Wifi and Drop box hold little value for me.
No need.
The Gcode files on the machine are in fact transferred from my Desktop a couple years ago via flash drive. I do have backups of those.
I have a CD of Path Pilot as a backup too.
Nothing else is needed.
Its up!!
tmarks11 was correct, $20 for a flash drive +$4 shipping in the US

EDIT: Order placed!
Perhaps they listened. Shipping to US locations appears to be $4 and $10 for Canada instead of the usual $40 or so. Order placed!
Ordered and its $14 to the UK = £26.30 total
Hey Guys;
I just purchased the new upgrade without a hitch. I purchased the older version hoping to run it on my novakon. The only concern I have is that this version states in the ordering process that one must have a system operating on the old version for this upgrade to work. I'm having difficulty getting the old version to load with (what I am hoping) is problems with the usb interface and I was under the impression that this version addressed some of the interface problems. I have already purchased a new motherboard and will install it as a last resort.
This upgrade to PP is getting complicated, annoying and expensive!
Good luck with your installs.
Bill
Order Placed.... Cannot wait to play.
Upgraded O.S.,F&S, CAM, and CAD $oftware might as well upgrade the control software.
That'll allow you to narrow the cause of any problems to something went wrong...
Lathe profiling sounds really useful! Can anyone elaborate on the profiling capability yet?
Cheers Cliff
Well....I see l there is now information on profile in the current operators manual.

Does anyone know, is Dropbox the only form of Networking available? If it is Linix based, can it just connect to our LAN to share and copy files?
Also, I thought I had heard there would be an off-line simulator or emulator to create and edit PathPilot programs while not at the machine. I thought this was to be web-based. Anyone know about this?
Yeah, I really don’t see any good reason to use Dropbox or WiFi.
It’s much better to use a wired connection then setup some shares.
I already do this on the current version of PathPilot using the built-in NFS protocol and this works fine using my NAS.
There are no web-based emulators for PP that I know of.
One can run PP in a VirtualBox and do everything you want without a machine connected.
This has been discussed here: PathPilot 2.x and PathPilot Simulator

All sorts of commercial and freeway d-code editors and simulators available for writing g-code.
PP as a program isn't really that good for writing g-code on, apart from maybe the conversational aspects of it.
I am kind of disappointed; I thought with PP2 that they would add some more conversational tabs.
Ordered yesterday, hopefully get a chance to play over xmas.
I wonder if there's any reason to make a backup to go back to 1.9.xx JIC...... (I'm not using a Tormach controller computer)
I also am hoping for some more "front end" stuff as the wifi/drop box bit wasn't really that big of a deal. I guess it's a wait and see what improvements in there are tangible for a hobbyist such as myself.

I ordered and got a shipping confirmation/tracking number yesterday for "USPS - PRIORITY MAIL INTERNATIONAL ". Hopefully Christmas will arrive in Cobourg next week!
Which manual did you download? I tried all the latest manuals I could find online but no of them described the profile feature.
I've nevertheless been playing with it for a while and I was quite impressed with the first tests in imperial units (I haven't run the profile routine on the machine yet - maybe tomorrow). However, it took me a few attempts to get it running in metric because it carried some initial values from imperial and it wasn't too happy. Once you get the hang of it it's actually quite nice :) Just check over ALL the values.
for example?

Received PathPilot 2.0 this afternoon. Will update my simulator install tomorrow evening in virtual box then update the mill's controller this weekend.
Steve
Got it installed last night, install went smoothly on my DIY Controller.
One thing to note, after it updates the MESA firmware, I needed to turn the computer off/on, not restart.. At least with mine anyway, it kept telling me I needed to restart each time.
Oh and I had a permission error after setting up dropbox that I'll have to look into. I am excited for dropbox because I work across 5 or so different computers, in different locations and it will be nice to have ONE place for my posts to go.
Will be making some chips tonight!
Just saw a 2.0 install video posted on the blog.

Installed without issue this evening. Dropbox installed. Ran a quick test job.
Everything went smoothly.
Glad to have dropbox functioning properly.

Can you choose which dropbox folders to sync? I have a lot of stuff on my dropbox account I don't want to sync on my Pathpilot PC.
Also, do you know which version of Linux PP 2.0 runs on?
You can exclude folders, but you have to type the name of each individual folder to exclude.
