tb6560 x axis is grinding y is smooth z is smooth im a newbie

I have a dell d600 laptop with the parallel port lpt 1
the driver board is the tb6560 blue one on ebay
I have the nema 17 motors 3 axis from ebay

I need to know the current settings for these motors
I am using 1/4 20 all thread and I think I have it at half step 8000 steps and it moves 1 ' like it is supposed to but the x axis is not smooth no matter what I set it at in motor tunning and it looses steps also. please any help with this is greatly appreciated

if its not smooth, I would look into using something other than 1/4-20 all thread- they are not the quietest , nor the best to use at high speed- try using a longer slop on your motor tuning for x axis, to say, around 500, and keep dropping it of by 50 until its smooth- if that fails, then you need to look into something more robust and quiet such as GT2 sprocket and belting, or go with roller chain, or an actual authentic ball screw with matching nut, while in the same vein, it would help to check all your bearings, as something may be dragging, introducing excessive resistance for the nema 17 motor to work against.
