Upgrading from a Probotix x90 fireball, Probotix or CNC router parts?
So I finally outgrew my x90 fireball from Probotix. This has been a great machine to learn on. Over 3 years the machine has been awesome but I now realize it's limitations. I mainly cut hardwoods and some occasional thin aluminum. There is too much flex in the x90 for what I want to do. I am looking at CNC router parts 2x4 pro or possiblly a larger probotix machine. I am in no rush so building the CNC router parts is not an issue. Does anyone recommend one brand over the other?
Thank you for the help

I'm in the same position you are/were. Just wondering what you decided on. I love my x90, but the amount of flex is just way too much. Im thinking about using all the electronics and rebuilding the machine out of 3060 and aluminum much like the newer probotix machines.

Re: Upgrading from a Probotix x90 fireball, Probotix or CNC router parts?
I have probotix
“1X4 Axis Monster CNC stepper Motor driver & Breakout board :PBX-RF
power supply upgrade :24VDC switcher”
I connect my motors as below :
Frist time “Bi-Polar Series”
Second time in “Bi-Polar Parallel”
to work with linux –cnc V2.5 and linux cnc V.2.7
My Parallel port have many mode to set on the PC motherboard [Printer – Bidirectional-EPP-ECP] which one I must chose
The motor drivers and the blackout board are working OK
And when I connect them to the motor I got Torque in the motor like the motor is locked
And the system doesn’t work
I haven’t got any movement
So can you help me pleas to fix this problem
thank you
