Ok... this probably sounds pretty dumb, but how do you zero the relative measurement? I got the absolute zeroed, but I can’t seem to find a way to get the relative!

From the Positon screen, press the Relative softkey, then the Origin softkey, then the AllExec softkey. That will set your relative position to zero.
type in X,Y,Z and then cancel

Being that this is a Mill with a Fanuc 0M control the Relative Screen might look like this:
U 00.0000
V 00.0000
W 00.0000
U is the Parallel Axis to X
V is the Parallel Axis to Y
W is the Parallel Axis to Z

Or this:
X 00.0000
Y 00.0000
Z 00.0000
