Looking to buy a vinyl Cutter
Looking to pick up my 1st Vinyl cutter. Im brand new to vinyl but not to graphics/design
Im a Graphic Design student and i thought it would be a good idea to sell stickers/signs/car graphics/business lettering and logos on ebay to make some extra money.
What would be the best Vinyl cutter for under 2,500.00?
I found 2 that looked decent from a good e-bay seller.

Are those 2 good or should i look at another in the 2,500.00 range?
Do cutters/plotters in that range only cut 1 color graphics?
Can plotters/cutters do anything other than cut graphics?
How long do they typically last before needing new parts?
Thanks!
Re: Looking to buy a vinyl Cutter
I have been making some research concerning cutting plotters. There are Plotters who do the job that you require which cost way less. There is a website which I found that has a Plotter comparison. On there you´ll find three devices which they compare. They are all able to meet your demands. The Website is called: https://www.plotter-city.com/schneid...t-vs-powercut/
And now to your questions: cutting plotters are also able to draw with a cutting plotter. There are special pens that you can use for this.
Also the graphics can have a different color as well. The cutting software splits the colors into as many jobs as you need.
Another thing that you´ve mentioned were the usual time this mashine runs without the need of spare parts. These vinyl cutters usually run more than 10 years. It can of course some minor things can always happen but there are enough spare parts to solve the problem.
Re: Looking to buy a vinyl Cutter
I bought a 34" USCutter SC about 4-5 years ago. I even went with a refurbished one they had in stock to save a little more. I was surprised when I received it as it looked perfect and brand new. I've cut hundreds of projects over the years and its worked flawlessly. Had a couple minor issues the first few months and their customer service was great. Answered any questions and when it needed a part (USB connector on the control board was iffy) they sent it quickly, without question and shipped for free. Now that I know how handy these cutters are and how much use it's gotten, the only thing I think I'd like to have is a machine with the automatic registration mark sensors (ARMS), so you can print with your inkjet and then cut out stickers or transfers and such precisely. They sell a model called the Titan III that has the ARMS, servo motors and vacuum hold down that looks pretty nice for the price and is well below your budget.
Re: Looking to buy a vinyl Cutter
Have a vinyl express I bought 10 years ago, the thing keeps on cutting. I would probably go with Roland (printable vinyl for cars) in the future for the support, but I was on a budget at the time. Or I will also recommend finding a used high end one. Lots of sign shops go out of business and liquidate their stuff if you are in a big city.
I have the $300 cheapo one available on eBay. I think mine is branded as "Redsail" or something. It gets the job done, but you'd only want to use it occasionally or while starting out.
