Summer project time

Hey everybody, this is the first time i am actualy posting here, but if you guys could help me out that would be awesome
I have a cummins 7x12 mini lathe that i want to convert to cnc over the summer as a little project. I have read around, but just wanted to get some unbiased advice if at all possible. What would be the best/easiest way to go about cncing this lathe and where might i find the appropriate information, preferably a step by step how to. I have been working with it for a while now as a manual and just kind of want to do this for fun so cost is of high importance
