Can G540 make my steppers quieter
I'm upgrading a 20 yr old Techno Davinci router, planning on junking the controller and going to Mach3 and a Gecko G540. Mostly looking for smoother motion, but also hoping to quiet down my steppers. At low feed rates, 5 -10 ipm, they are incredibly noisy, I can sometime feel the vibration in the machine. Can I expect any improvement with the G540?

I can't speak for the Davinci comparison but when I changed my smaller machine over to a G540 it went from grinding-crunching noises to nice electronic music, so yes, I'd say there's a very good chance it will improve.
At the very least, the G540's are designed by an acknowledged expert to perform optimally, so it's hard not to imagine any improvement.

Thanks Ian, that's music to my ears!
That's why I bit the bullet and went with the G540.
