I was looking at a 3 axis kit and controller for $510. Its worth every penny but Im trying to get my Joes 2006 up and running on a shoe string and just wondering if there is a less expensive route to get started.

My machine is the BuildYourCNC book build and it works great. The driver board needed to me assembled but it was pretty easy to do.
