how to reset after hard limit triggered
I have a DIY router using Arduino/GRBL. I have hard limits set up. When I trigger a hard limit it goes into alarm and I can't figure a way to get out of it other than powering down my poser supply and manually moving the machine off of the switch.
Is there a better way?
Thanks
Re: how to reset after hard limit triggered
I have that problem when I am jogging while machine is not homed and the soft limits are not active. I do this to get access to the ball nuts for lubricating them. Right now I just short the limit switch with a test lead. I'm thinking about putting some momentary NO push button switches in parallel with the limit switch that I could push and hold while I jog off the limit switch.

$X command overrides the alarm lock allowing you to jog off of the switch

I have tested this. the $X overrides the requirement to home the machine after connecting but it will not override a hard limit alarm lock.

When GRBL hits a limit switch, it stops all steppers and (exact) positions are lost. You have to reset the GRBL controller by pressing reset on the arduino or just disconnect and connect again. After that, you can use the jog buttons.
