Clearly, it was designed with a purpose in mind. I mentioned the how the cutting table's size is similar to my own custom built machine, yet this machine is much larger. I would love to get some old photos of what the machine actually made.
The real takeaway is bringing this hefty machine back to life without having to spend $20k on a new (pentium III) Siemens controller after the old pentium II controller was deemed obsolete.

That machine looks like it would do some serious work. What controller are you using with Mach4?
