Cutting 3mm cast acrylic with a 30W Chinese laser?

Hey,

I am looking to cut 3mm acrylic (for hobby purposes), and then engraving it with text.

I looked at buying a K40 laser from China but I have concerns that I won't be able to clear it with my country's customs due to the laser component.

I have an opportunity to locally purchase a used 30W Chinese 3020 laser cutter, which fits my working area requirements.

Will I be able to properly cut 3mm acrylic with 30W of power? Will I have to run my laser at high power therefore causing it to wear more quickly?

What might be important to note is that as the laser will be used for a hobby, it won't be used very frequently.
