Distilled water and good antifreeze. A lot of people use PC water cooling additives rather than antifreeze.
agree with Ger21, Distilled water, and about 20% car antifreeze. This ensure stuff does not grow in the water. The distilled water ensure there are no impurities in the water to start with like calcium that can accumulate over time and block the passages in the spindle.

It would depend how long you will be running the spindle it in an open system, start with a gallon in a closed system with a radiator and fan you can have as little as a quartQuote:

I'm facing the same challenge. What is the best way to prevent corrosion besides having all of the same material in the loop? Is there another additive or different coolant that can be used?
