pls, i am looking for a method to measure od threads / flancs, but i am not sure

hello, a long time ago, i have seen a thing with 1-3 dial indicators + calibrated threaded rolers, that was used to measure od threads

it was pretty fast, but i forget; pls, does anyone know what i am talking about ?

also, please, do you know a fast measuring method, which is not in this list :
... go + no_go thread gauge
... thread micrometer
... wires
... optical systems ( like attached )
