Los Angeles area CNC machinist wanted

We’re looking for a CNC Machinist to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Prototype Engineering team, you will contribute to our product development efforts in a fast paced, creative setting. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’ll collaborate with Design, Research and Product Development teams to develop cutting-edge, wearable technologies.

What You’ll Do
• Operate and maintain a 5-axis vertical machining center (CNC machine) and 3-axis knee mill
• Generate CNC command programs using CAM software
• Operate and maintain standard shop tools (band saw, table saw, drill press, etc.) as well as hand tools (hammer, screw gun, angle grinder, file, drill & tap)
• Play an active role in the layout and design of our state-of-the-art CNC Lab
• Build & maintain a robust inventory of tooling and materials
• Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Hold yourself and others to the highest industry safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment

Minimum Qualifications
• 4+ years of CNC machining experience, using 3-axis
• 4+ years of CAM software programming experience
• 4+ years experience using shop tools, woodworking & metalworking tools, as well as standard hand tools
• Experience machining very small parts with complex geometry
• Experience with rapid iteration in a product development setting

Preferred Qualifications
• Certification in CNC machining and CAM software programming
• Experience with 4 & 5-axis CNC machines
• Experience working with ABS, polycarbonate and/or polystyrene
• CMM/OMM part validation experience
• Inventory management experience
• Experience managing relationships with third-party vendors & suppliers
• Experience machining tooling for plastic injection molding
• In-depth knowledge of material properties as they pertain to CNC machining (aluminum, steel, plastic)
• Proficiency with generating and updating spreadsheets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex machining concepts to less experienced team members
