Within the past 2 weeks when the machine goes to swap tools, the carosuels moves much quicker to the spindle to swap tools. It is a much more violent motion then normal and happens at about 3x the normal tool change. It has dropped tools due to this. We have troubleshot best we can with no changes or results.
What sort of tool changer does it have ,the swing out arm type or the slide across tool changer.

If you have the swing arm type then there are flow controls on the air cylinder that control the speed of the arm movement. Also at the end of the stroke there are shock absobers to control the stop. If its going to fast then adjust the flow controls. The flow controls control the air exiting the cylinder so adjust accordingly. If it is slamming at the end of the stroke then the shock need replacing. Slowing down the speed can help even if the shock is not that effective any more.
