Which controller board/drivers to go with?

Ok I am new to the cnc builds but I am learning as I read through a lot of articles and forums here on the web. We are currently building our own cnc laser table and my next step is the controller (BOB).

I am in between a dsp controller or the retniaengrave card but I have not seen many reviews between the two cards that give personal input good/bad. I also have been thinking of saving the money and going with the cheaper BOB and running the gecko drives. That is another question, what is a good driver to use with nema 23 motors?

Can anyone here shed some light on the subject for me or supply me with good reads around the web?
