Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Leadshine is glad to announce that we will start to provide technical support on CNCZone to users who have bought from us directly, or through our authorized distributors out side of China at Distribution Network. As the largest stepper drive and easy servo (closed stepper) system designer and manufacturer in the world, Leadshine products have been widely implemented in tens of industries including very high sales in CNC industries (mills, routers, plasma, lathe, laser cutter, waterjet...). Because the popularity of our products, there are a lot of replicas and fake Leadshine products sold online from eBay, Amazon... For this reason, Leadshine will not provide technical support or warranty to products bought through those source. You are welcome to post your questions here in this Leadshine forum. You can also go to Leadshine website at www.leadshine.com or www.leadsihineusa.com to find manuals, software, datasheets..., which could help to solve your technical issues.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Glad to see a presence here from Leadshine.
I recently purchased the following items from Americanmotiontech.com which is linked from your website.
ES-MH23480 Easy Servos
ES-DH1208 drives
CABLEH-RZ5MO cables
CABLEH-BM5MO cables
My question is that the cables were described as "shielded" but when I peeled back the heat shrink on the end of the jacket I cannot see the typical braided shielding.
What is you take on that fact?
Is it shielded or not?
Thanks,
Rob

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
How can we know is it fake or not? I bought from ebay HBS507 driver and 573HBM20-1000 motor but I cannot find manual or software for that drive.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hi Marijan
Leadshine is No.1 for stepper products in China, anf there are many fake products online .we don't have anti-counterfeit label on products ,so i am not your products are Leadshine or not .
And HBS507 driver and 573HBM20-1000 are sold for Chinese local market ,not for international market .so please contact your supplier firstly , i think they will send the information as you want .
If you like Leadshine products ,please contact Leadshine directly or Leadshine distributors . we have many distributors in many countries. i think you will get good after sale service and good products .

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hi I have the Leadshine HBS86H driver and the HBS507 driver. I can run them both with Protuner fine however when I use my mach3 motion controller only the HBS507 is turning the HBS86H will not turn. Do you know why this is? maybe it needs higher step/dir signal voltage?
Thanks,
layman94.

Hi I bought the same driver off of ebay also. If you are English speaking this may help you.
- For the manual just go to Leadshine Technology - Home and download the manual for the ES-D508 drive. They are the same as far as I can tell and I have had no problems using it.
- If you want to use Protuner (I tried the ES-D508 version it did not work for me) you are going to have to go to www.leisai.com. It will be necessary to have the Leadshine Technology - Home
webpage open at the same time.
- The leisai page is ONLY in Chinese so you will have to navigate using the leadshine.com page as a reference.
- You will find the protuner for the HBS series version 1.3 download this. This is also ONLY in Chinese.
- To use this you will have to get the manual for the ES-D series protuner for reference it has the same layout.
Hope this helps.

- it looks like the same drive , but it didn't work for me.
HBS507 protuner
- http://leisai.com/product/detail.asp...odecode=101030
- It is under HBS507_setup. it is 14674KB
- It worked for me though it is in Chinese only. I just downloaded the manual for the ES-D series and navigated with that, It is the same layout.
ES-D508 protuner manual

Hi I have a mx3660. The instructions say to use a shunt regulator to be used. Any recommendations on a shunt regulator?

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
I have a MX3660 bought through XZero as part of my Raptor CNC package. It has run well since I began using it last November. Today, out of the blue, it my CNC stopped and the limit switch lights dimmed, I smelled electrical burning coming from the MX3660. My power supply seems to be fine, and my smooth stepper will run if I disconnect the power at the MX, so it seems like it has failed for some reason. How do I initiate warranty service?

Layman94. Have you tried to use ES-D508 driver (witch is International version of HBS507), save the settings to file from english version of ProTuner just to open Chinese version of ProTuner and load the setting from the file to HBS507?
Theoretically it schould work.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
I have a Camaster cnc, Why would leadshine MX4660 drive blow from hittng the estop. This seems to be a common problem. Any fixes woul be appreciated
-
Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
hutch...
It is well known that dc steppers generate voltage when they are moved when not under power. Numerous drives on numerous brands have blown when axes are moved by hand. Imagine the current generated if the machine was executing a rapid move of a few hundred inches per minute and the estop was activated, which of course removes power to the drives. Once the back EMF gets into the drive, it lets the magic smoke out. Blown drive.
2 fixes: 1) Forget about the estop and use the spacebar. Too many users think that the Estop is the "everyday stop", its not, never has been. 2) Search for and find the Leadshine tech document that specs a couple $40 aluminum caps, or an even more expensive shunt to absorb the generated voltage, and install one setup.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
I'm trying to add a 4th axis to the MX3660 but I can't get it to work.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong (maybe om reading the schematics wrong?)
I have connected it like this:
MX3660 to stepper driver:
(Output 1+) to (DC+)
(Output 1-) to (Pul +)
(Output 2+) to (DC+)
(Output 2-) to (Dir +)
((Pul- and Dir- to GND))
Attachment 354232

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
My MX4660 just stopped working all of the sudden. The LEDs ont eh drivers are dim, and flickering. Power supply is good at 36 V into the MX4660.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hi, I just received some of #Leadshine integrated easy servo motors(Leadshine easy servo motors / stepper motors with encoders) which were purchased from AMT.
I am able to connect to them in the protuner program, but when I try to access the settings or do a motion test, the motor will start to move as commanded, and take window pops up that the program has crashed.
Any idea what could be causing this?
I am using the FTDI usb to serial cable which was purchased along with the motors from AMT. The motors were connected to a power supply set to 26V. Lastly, the machine that the protuner program was running on is running windows 10 as I do not have access to a windows 7 machine.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hi all. I'm trying to set up the ACS606 drive along with the BLM57090 servomotor but I'm not able to get a smaller following error than 400 steps at a constant speed of 2000 RPM. I'm a little confused because of the ACS606 datasheet stated that the position following error should be +/- 1 count. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Hi, have you solved this issue? I have an ACS806 and 57BL180D servo from Leadshine that suffer from a similar problem, the servo works below 530 rpm (the following error is high but it keeps spinning, without load) but if i exceed 530 rpm than the following error quickly jumps to the limit and stops the motor.
Thanks, Matteo.

No, I did not solve this issue. I tried tune these drivers (I have two and both have this issue) many times but without success. Even worse is fact that the following error is not constant but is depending on the actual speed. So In my opinion these drivers are totally useless for accurate positionig. You can see similar thread here.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Where does this Larger Gnd wire go that is in the encoder cable?https://www.cnczone.com/forums/attac...d=406802&stc=1
-
Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
That should be the shield (braid) ground if its shielded (with braid). Normally this is grounded to chassis at only one end. In a star ground configuration using the cabinet as the reference it would be grounded here. If your system (encoder end) is grounded to chassis with a similar arrangement seen here but at the motor end put some insulation on this end to avoid a potential ground loop.
-
Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
I'll just leave it disconnected for now then, You would think that these encoder cables with 7 wires would be mentioned somewhere. There is not continuity with the multi-meter with the port end outer sheath. next best bet would be to try all the port holes to see if i get a signal.
-
Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
I'd definitely put some insulation on that exposed wire.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Glad to see this section. Maybe someone can help. I purchased 4 DM860e drivers from automation direct. I have them hooked up to my Pokeys57cnc, but the motor will just click a little and try to move, but no movement. Curious about your suggested wiring. I have hybrid NEMA23 8 wire steppers. I am just lost at this point. I hooked up the drivers per Pokeys tutorials on Youtube, but with no success.
Thanks in advance,
Shane

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hi Shane,
Thank you for supporting Automation Direct.
It seems that the drive DM860E does not receive the normal pulse/dir signal please check if there was any correct 5v pulse signal output from Pokeys57cnc controller?Max.frequency 200khz).
You can try to move motor shaft by hand when power on to check if your motor is locked by driving current , and the NEMA23 stepper motor with 8-wire, do you use parallel connection or serial connection? Don't connect a wrong wire, double check according to your drawing. If any question or support just let us know, thanks.
Best regards.

Got it figured out. Was off a pin when I soldered my connector through the cabinet.

I had an enlightenment.
After so many years I think I understand why I lose steps in the motor reversal
see the pic
t2: DIR must be ahead of PUL active edge by at least 5 ?s to ensure correct direction.
t3: Pulse width not less than 0.85 ?s;
t4: Low level width not less than 0.85 ?s.
I have read many posts but I think this is the solution
in linuxcnc the BASE_PERIOD must be modified
when I have some time I'll try this solution

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hi Gantarone,
For the control signal, there is strict time sequence to make sure the drive can recognize signal correctly. PS:Different drivers have different timing requirements
Usually, the DIR signal should ahead PUL signal at least 5us, even 10us so that the drive can accurately determine the direction of the motor first, motor will not lose steps when reverse. Also the same for ENA If you use.
Thank you for supporting Leadshine products!

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hello,
I have problems using ProTunerCS V3.1 on Wind10 (laptop).
When I tried to use the scope tool-start, it works for some seconds and then it gets closed.
Any idea what to do? I could not find this software on the chinese web, it doesn't exist.
Thanks.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
Hello,Please let me know the model and serial number of your drive?
CS series is designed for overseas customers so it's not released in China market there is no English manual and software on chinese website.
Where did you buy the drive and motor? Thanks.

Re: Leadshine technical support available on CNCzone.com
I am fixing a GWeike laser engraver for a friend. The two Z axis steppers just vibrate back and forth. The LED on the Leadshine ME872 stepper driver is green. I moved the cables to the Y axis and changed the DIP switches to match the Z axis and the steppers work fine. Is there anything I can do to possibly repair the ME872, and if not, how would I purchase a new one? Thanks.
