Re: 7x mc60 motor controller
No reason at all. People use the MC60 controller quite frequently. I had one on a Taig mill and ran it for several years like that.
Re: 7x mc60 motor controller
The MC-60 is SCR bridge (120Hz) controlled, not PWM, You need the MC2100 version for PWM control.
There is also a mod on the MC60 that avoids having to take the Pot to zero when ever the motor is stopped.
Re: 7x mc60 motor controller
Alright, works great, lots of torque, lots of blown fuses. Any recommendations? I'm thinking a panel mount breaker (w58 or so)
Turned down a HSS drill bit shank to fit the largest collet I have for the mill (34mm to 7/8") and it went quite well. Surprised how well the Chinese carbide held up and how the machine could handle .020" passes with only mild discomfort.
Re: 7x mc60 motor controller
Odd? The MC60 has built in current monitoring and motor control.
In the T.M. application it generally uses a breaker.
