pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501
A860-0360-V501 it takes cable A860-0360-T201
I have acquired one of these motors to run a 4th axis. the brake releases , the motor seems to test ok, but the encoder is definitely wired differently than my other motors. and is wired differently than the pinouts I have found in the posts. If any one has the pinout, or can tell me how I might determine the wiring format for the encoder, I could sure use some help. thanks

Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501
Hello,
Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but it should be in topic.
Al, I have a similar motor with 20-29 marked inside the CANNON MS Connector, from one of your other posts I have found :
"Fanuc DC Motor 5
Type: 0-2500M 2500 pulse encoder"
Is it the same encoder on the motor in the picture "TYPE 5-2/3 N" ?
I unscrewed the MS connector from the cap and looked inside, I could barely read Tamagawa, and the encoder appeared to be mounted off axis/center any idea ?
Any hint about the proper way of removing the cap in a non destructive way ?
(it is apparently glued with some blue stuff, from pics on the web)
Attachment 502942
if it's an Absolute encoder, then what kind of protocol does it use ? Proprietary ?
Datasheet ?
Thanks very much.
Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501
Generally the proprietary encoders are used on the AC (Red-Cap) servo's.
The DC generally used a standard quadrature encoder.
Not sure of your description of the encoder?
Would need the Fanuc model number to confirm, from that the type and resolution could be known.
Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501
Thanks very much for the reply Al !
The control was an old Fanuc 0MB / 6MB...if it can help :) an there was no sticker on the encoder from what I could see, it was laser marked on SS encoder housing...
" BRUSHLESS
TYPE
INPUT
TAMAGAWA"
And it is clearly way off center, to the side of what looks like the bearing flange/housing, but could be part of a larger encoder...
Please, how would you remove the black cap from the motor in a non destructive way ? to take a closer look at the encoder ?
I have tried to pry it open but it seems to be glued, and I am afraid of using heat around sensitive components.
Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501
From the Date on the motor tag shown and the FB unit being off-center I'd say it's an inductosyn resolver.
Re: pin out pulse coder A860-0360-v501
Hi guys,
Had a hard time prying the cap off with a screw driver, wedged between the housing and cap... had to lightly hammer(M16 hex bolt head) on the screwdriver.
Right on the money freaky ! it's a resolver =>(the word that should not be said) geared to the main shaft
TAMAGAWA TS530N30E9 3000Hz BRUSHLESS RESOLVER

It also appears that it has another feedback below it, which looks like a small armature with commutator and two wires(red+white) coming out of it... is that a tacho ?
Any straightforward way of converting the outputs to something usable ?
Any affordable drivers for these ?
Thanks very much !
